Children are like sponges. They absorb all the information around them and use it to form their personalities. If you want your children to make choices that support physical and mental health, you have to give them examples. 1. Teaching Them To Eat Healthy Meals

The best way to teach a child to eat healthy foods is to feed them healthy meals. After all, it’s not easy to create a balanced diet for your children, let alone teach them about the importance of nutrition as they get older. Let them be involved in grocery shopping. The first step in helping your child manage their feelings is helping them understand them. Don’t dismiss anger or sadness, even if the source of the feeling seems ridiculous to you as an adult. For example, a toddler will cry over the color of their cup, but ignoring that feeling and telling them to be quiet dismisses the emotion. Instead, talk them through it. Ask questions and help them understand the differences among the varying feelings they have.

If your child shows interest in a hobby, you should as well. Get involved and talk to them about how you can support their interests. For example, if your child loves to draw, you could purchase art supplies and set up a drawing desk in their room. Genuine interest encourages them to keep pursuing their hobbies now and in the future.

Learning to show gratitude is a great way to build a positive outlook on life. It starts with your own attitude. Avoid complaining too much when around your children. Instead, show your appreciation for even the small things in life. You can even create a family gratitude journal where everyone can write down all the things they are grateful for in life.
