The Women in Science and Technology Collection introduces young readers to influential women in science and technology, from astronauts to medical doctors. It includes the biography of each of the following women:
Katherine Johnson – Math Skills Work at NASA was critical to first space flights.
Megan Smith – Former U.S. Chief Technology Officer
Mae C. Jemison – First African-American woman astronaut.
Elizabeth Blackwell – First woman doctor is U.S.
Grace Hopper – Computer Scientist and U. S. Rear Admiral, pioneer of computer programming
Annie Easley – Computer scientist, mathematician, and rocket scientist. Worked at NASA.
Each reader includes questions and activities to build background knowledge, a vocabulary glossary, comprehension questions, a time line, and an extension activity.
